Throughout world history, they appear. Transcending fear, merging with death, and bringing renewal and warmth to the rest of us. I&#8217;m not really into dwelling on how a lot of Western art focuses on their plight as suffering individuals forsaken by the very folks they&#8217;re there to protect (that actually misses the point and I&#8217;m so glad this <a href=\"https:\/\/archiveofourown.org\/works\/11037012\">fic and its sequel<\/a> explicitly address).
